BARBER POLE
HISTORY'S TIDBIT - Barber poles derive from the practice of bloodletting. Barbers, at one time, served as bloodletters as well as haircutters. The barber's pole is emplematic of blood soaked bandages. Today's barbers, in contrast to their predecessors, try not to draw blood. LARRY ELKINS - elkinsphotos.com
